The October 2020 Newsletter is now available for your reading pleasure. Here’s a short excerpt from DG Cathy’s message for the month:
October for us as Lions International members we have a significant focus in Vision Awareness Month, Membership growth month, and Leo membership growth month.
World Sight Day is October 8, 2020, and this day was originally started as part of the Sight First Campaign by our foundation in 2000. Vision has been our primary focus to aid those in need due to blindness and vision impairment that can be corrected. Our organization will continue our work as our population is again and myopia and diabetic retinopathy and vision impairment in the coming decades.
Our Constitution & Bylaws have been updated as a result of changes voted on in April of this year. To view the updates, see the current version of the Constitution & Bylaws on the Constitution, Bylaws, & Policies page.

Based upon the latest CDC guidelines that no more than 10 people should be gathered together in one place, the March 28th Region 1-2 District bowl-athon is now canceled. I will consider rescheduling it later this year if conditions permit. PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD.
It will soon be time for our District Convention to be held on April 25th, 2020
at the Red Lion Hotel, 4751 Lindle Rd, Harrisburg, PA 17111.

District Governor Sam presided over our February Cabinet meeting this past Sunday. This time, we gathered in the Grace United Methodist Church in Hummelstown in Region 1 Zone C (bear the Hershey and South Hanover Lions). We were honored to host State Council Chair Bill Morgan and award recognize our Peace Poster contest winner. Catch up with these images of the afternoon courtesy of Lion John Petrina.
The Lions, Lionesses and Leos of District 14-T and Multiple District 14 sadly report the passing Wednesday, January 22, 2020 of Past District Governor Joan Sleesman.
No funeral services will be held for PDG Sleesman, who served as District 14-T Governor during the 2008-2009 Lions year.
We will greatly miss this great Lion with a long history of service to others.
